Our aim is to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to our clients. To provide some background information – and also to help those contemplating self-help or another type of counsel – we offer the following references:

  • CA Courts: Legal Steps for a Divorce or Legal Separation (FL-107-INFO)
  • Free, downloadable guides on separation and divorce from California Courts for parents, kids and teens (English and Spanish): http://familieschange.ca.gov/
  • Lamoreaux Justice Center, California Superior Court – Provides Self-Help Centers and Workshops, Interpretor/Translation Services and Family Law Facilitators (issues relating to child and spousal support, and health insurance). The Family Law Facilitator is not your attorney. There is no attorney-client relationship between you and the Family Law Facilitator. The Facilitator is neutral and can help you as well as the other party (for example, your former spouse, the parent of your child, etc.). If you want help with your case strategy, you should consult with a private attorney for legal advice.
  • Human Options – provides safe haven and life changing programs to help abused women, their children and families rebuild their lives – and works with the community to break the cycle of domestic violence.
  • Laura’s House – For victims of domestic violence. Their mission is changing social beliefs, attitudes and the behaviors that perpetuate domestic violence while creating a safe space in which to empower individuals and families affected by abuse.
  • Mediation/ Collaborative Divorce – Mediation and collaborative divorce are tools for couples who have decided to separate to attempt and achieve a settlement that best meets each parties’ needs and avoid the stress, expense and uncertainty of litigation. Krystle Lilly-White received her Mediation Certificate from the California Arbitration and Mediation Services (CAMS) and can guide clients through their issues to a mutually-satisfying conclusion.
