In this installment we will review the first two steps of Hittelman Family Law Group’s six step case process and explain why each step is important and necessary.
When you’re facing a crucial personal issue or event that demands choosing an attorney, like Steve Hittelman and the HFLG team, the decision will impact you for a lifetime so it’s not just important to know their qualifications, it is critical to understand the way they work. Understanding the process that will be followed by your attorney before you make such an important decision can make the all the difference not, only for your satisfaction but on your desired outcome.
After more than 30 years of practice Steve Hittelman has learned a few things that take away most of the usual hurdles commonly encountered in a Family Law matter. Together with the attorneys and experienced support staff at Hittelman Family Law Group, a streamlined 6 step process has been developed to ensure that each case gets the full attention it deserves.
Step One: The Intake Process
Step One is the Intake Process, that first call you make to HFLG. You will be greeted by one of the teams knowledgeable non attorneys, each of whom have a decade or more experience supporting a wide variety of case types and clients. You need to know that beginning with this very first call everything you share is considered confidential. You will be asked to provide some basic information about yourself, other people related to your prospective case, what the purpose of your outreach is and what type of services you are seeking. This is a pretty quick process and once this is completed a consultation with one an HFLG attorney is scheduled at your convenience.
Here’s the first tip to help make things go smoothly and start on the right footing; you’re not the first person to face the issue you’re calling about and after more than 30 years, HFLG has seen it all. Don’t feel awkward or embarrassed, you came to the right place to get the help you need.
Step Two: Your Confidential Consultation
Step 2 is your confidential consultation directly with one of the talented HFLG attorneys led by Steve Hittelman. You will have the option of meeting in person, by video or by telephone, whichever is most convenient for you. This is your chance to share your story in detail, so don’t hold back, the more information you share, from events to documents, the better. In order to provide you with the best advice and direction, to protect your interests you need to be willing to provide full disclosure, even those things you’ve done or thoughts you have that may not put you in the best light. Remember that everyone has been wronged at some time, has been victimized and has made mistakes. Your attorney knows this and is here to help you, never to judge you.
Our second tip is the Golden Rule, always tell the truth when you talk to your attorney so they can protect you fully. In our experience, good or bad, the truth always comes out.
